Some sessions feel like they were meant to unfold exactly as they did. Photographed along the Connecticut shoreline by Natalie Buck , this evening brought together dramatic blue skies, soft coastal light, and the sweetest family moments, with Indie Blue pieces moving beautifully against the changing sky.

Natalie is a newborn, maternity, and family photographer based in Connecticut, with a studio in Roxbury. For the past 11 years, she’s documented families as they grow and change, with an organic approach centered around connection, emotion, and storytelling.

“I love capturing the in-between moments, the small details, genuine laughter, movement, and personalities that make each family unique. I want my photographs to feel like a reflection of the people in front of my camera and the story they were living in that moment.”

The session had been planned and rescheduled for weeks, but in the end, the unexpected weather became part of what made it so special.

Mother Nature had other plans for us, and honestly, I’m so glad she did. The weather that evening was like a painting. Their dresses and outfits couldn’t have complemented the scenery more perfectly, and the blue clouds and magenta skies created the most incredible backdrop.”

Beyond the beautiful setting, it’s the connection between this family that makes us love these images so much. Nothing overly posed, just movement, laughter, little moments, and a family being themselves.

As Natalie puts it,

Nothing felt forced; it was simply one of those sessions where everything came together in the most beautiful way.”

And maybe that’s what we love most about seeing Indie Blue through a photographer’s lens: our pieces becoming part of the moments families will remember long after the evening ends.
